RE/VERSE - Biennale Chroniques
RÍOS TRILOGY - RE/VERSE
Figure N. 1
Ríos explores visual representations, speculative cartographies that rise from the process of hybridisation of Amazonia related data.

Figure N. 2
Each sculpture is based on topographic data from a territory delimited by the hydrological sub-basins forming the extensive Amazonian basin
and the major tributary rivers nourishing the Amazons River.

Figures N.3 & N.4
The 3D models are printed with the assistance of a 3D printer using clay as raw material.

Figures N.5- N.8
Each sculpture is based on digital elevation models that result from the process of combining:
a) Actual topographic data.
b) Geo-referenced information related to socio-environmental threats.
c) Linguistic analysis based on RIVERS // AMAZONIA geo-linguistics: https://rivers.ulara.org/

Figures N. 9 & N.10
3D simulations of the space, as conceived once the nineteen pieces are finished.

Figure N.11
Please note that the installation is conceived to work with either the full series of the nineteen sculptures or with individual pieces (minimum one), allowing the installation to travel light and or be presented in spaces with small capacities.

Figure N.12
RE/VERSE is a Mix Reality (MR) piece, a hybrid of reality and virtual reality. As implied in the name, the work merges the real and the virtual worlds to produce an audio/visual and sensory environment, where physical and digital objects coexist and interact in real-time.

Figures N.13 & N.14
The HMD will allow the spectator to visualise and interact with 3D virtual objects based on the real-physical sculpture space.

Figure N.15
When the visitors put the HMD on, they will enter a virtual copy of the physical environment where the sculptures will become animated by different data sources.
